How to change your default Google account

If you want to change your default Google account, follow the steps below:

  • Swipe down from your Android phone or tablet and then tap on the gear icon to access "Settings."
  • In Settings, scroll down and select "Google."
  • Here, you will see your default Google account listen at the top of the screen. Tap on the drop-down arrow under your name to see all accounts available on your phone.
  • Next, tap "Manage Accounts on this Device."
  • Now, you should be able to see all accounts you're signed into on your device.
  • Find your default Google account and tap on it and select "Remove Account." (Remember that removing an account will remove message, contacts, and other data associated with the account on your device.)
  • After the removal process is complete, go back and tap "Add Another Account" from the drop-down arrow.
  • On the Google sign-in page, simply add your credentials and add the account of your choice.
Give it a few minutes to sync and your default Google account is now successfully changed.
